Serves 6. You can make potato cakes tomorrow morning with the leftovers.
- 1 kg potatoes (I used Irish cobbler)
- 700 ml milk/cream
- 20g butter
- (optional) egg yolks
- Peel potatoes and place in pan of cold water
- Salt the water lightly
- Bring to boil then boil for ~20 mins, until stabbable
- Into collander, leave to steam for a few minutes
- Back into pan, add milk/cream and butter
- Mash. Salt and pepper to taste.
